At first, creating an online store may seem daunting. Our goal at Nymbl is to make it as easy as possible. We think we’ve done that, but we still want to walk you through the basics so that you can use the platform to its full potential and increase your sales. So that’s what we are going to do in this article. We’ll help walk you through it.
Sign up is super simple. Go to Nymbl.io. Right there on the homepage is a sign-up window. You’ll need to fill in the four fields. Full name, email address, a password and your desired store name (Note: the store names do not allow for special characters and spaces will automatically be removed from the store name when the URL is created). Once you’ve filled those in, click the “signup for free” button and let the magic begin. The store creation process takes around 30 seconds, so be patient.
Site Tutorial
As soon as your store is created the tutorial will begin. We encourage you to go through the tutorial, but you’re probably reading this because you skipped it or accidentally closed it while you were working through it. To restart the tutorial, click on the home page editor tool on your page (the icon is a little pencil). It’s at the very top just to the right of where it has the currency listed. Then you’ll be prompted to login to the admin page. Log in and at the top left of the admin page is a button that says, “start tutorial.” Click that and you’re on your way.
Logging-In
At some point you’ll be asked to login. Using the email and password you created during sign-up will log you into the dashboard. The dashboard will let you do a lot of the editing you will need later. We will get to that! It’s a good idea to have the computer remember your login or write it down and securely store it so you don’t lose it.
Uploading a Design
Other than signing up, this is the most important step on your journey to selling products. Without designs, you have nothing to sell! You can upload up to 10 designs for free, so take advantage of all 10 spots!
Once you’ve logged into the dashboard (the button for that is to the right of the edit button on the top of your store page) hovering over the button will make it read, “add design/dashboard.”
A pop up will appear asking you to upload a design. This box also contains vital information about the requirements for the designs. We have strict requirements because we want your products to look good and these specifications ensure they will be up to the high standards we have set.
Follow the instruction in the box and click where it tells you. You will then choose your design. Designs must be either a .jpg or and .png. Select your desired design.
If selecting a .jpg, you’re done, just click upload and you will be sent a confirmation that you have requested an upload.
If you selected a .png you will be asked if you want to choose a background color. You may choose one if you wish. This color will be the background on non-apparel items only (coffee mugs, posters etc.) On clothing, this is not applicable.
Once you’ve seen the message that your item has been sent for approval, please be patient. This process can take up to 20 minutes (or longer) to finish. We are checking for copywrite infringement and getting the designs digitally placed on all the items we offer.
Once the item has uploaded successfully, you will receive an email letting you know. At that point, head to your store and check it out!
Edit Your Store
Now that you have uploaded a design (or hopefully several), it’s a good time to edit the look and feel of your store. This is done via our “edit homepage” tool. This allows you to swap out photos, change the text, add your logos and change your favicon. When you are on your main store page, on the top right of the page you’ll see where it tells you what currency you are working with. Just to the right of that is a little pencil icon. Clicking that will get you to the “edit homepage” tool. It will ask you to log-in if you haven’t already. From here, double clicking on parts of the page that have dotted line around them will allow you to edit those sections. Add your header photos. You top and bottom logos, your favicon (this is the little icon that appears next to websites you see on the tabs at the very top of your screen). And you can change text and the collections photos as well.
That concludes most of the basics to get you started. If you have any questions, please watch the tutorial video here or feel free to reach out to our support team. We are here to help. We will also be posting some written instructions on more advanced features of the Nymbl platform, so please see that once you are comfortable with the steps we listed above.
